What Brush Clearing Covers

Brush clearing deals with what’s growing above the ground. We knock down and remove the overgrowth so you can see across the property, walk it safely, and use it again. The soil stays largely undisturbed, which keeps the job faster and less expensive than full clearing.

For a lot of property owners around Ocala and Dunnellon, that’s the whole job. For others it’s step one before grading, fencing, or a build. Either way we walk it with you first so the scope matches what you actually want at the end.

  • Thick brush, palmetto, briars, and vines
  • Overgrown vegetation and unwanted growth
  • Saplings and small-diameter trees
  • Grown-over fence lines and property lines
  • Neglected back lots and side yards
  • Sight lines along driveways and gates

Brush Clearing or Land Clearing?

The dividing line is roots. If nothing is going on the ground and you just want it open and maintainable, brush clearing usually gets you there. If a pad, driveway, fence, or grass is going in, the stumps and root mats have to come out, which puts the job into land clearing in Marion County territory.

We wrote a plain-English comparison in brush clearing vs. land clearing if you want to think it through before calling. Plenty of jobs are a mix: light brush work across most of the property, heavier clearing only where something is going.

Skid Steer Brush Clearing

Most of this work is done with a compact track loader running a grapple or bucket. It’s the right size for residential lots, tight tree lines, and fence rows where a larger machine would tear up more ground getting to the work than the work itself. When a job needs heavier lifting or deeper digging, we bring in an excavator.

Material can be piled in an out-of-the-way spot on site or hauled off with our dump trailer, whichever suits the property. If the next step is smoothing and shaping the disturbed ground, we can carry straight through to grading and site preparation instead of you lining up a second contractor.

Common Brush Clearing Situations

If your property looks like one of these, brush clearing is likely the right starting point.

  • Overgrown fence lines

Clearing the growth off and along a fence so you can see it, maintain it, or replace it without fighting brush the whole way.

  • Small lots and back yards

Residential lots that have grown in over a few seasons and need to be knocked back to usable, walkable ground.

  • Neglected acreage

Property you haven't been able to walk in years. Opening it up is the fastest way to see what you actually own.

  • Vegetation removal near structures

Careful work close to homes, sheds, septic fields, and fences where a big machine would do more harm than good.

  • Prep before grading

Getting the overgrowth off first so the ground can be shaped, raked, or built on in a second pass.

  • Ongoing maintenance

Periodic knock-backs on property that regrows fast, which most Central Florida ground does.
