Gravel Driveway Problems We Fix
Most gravel and limerock driveway complaints come down to water, shape, or both. Adding a fresh load of rock on top usually feels good for a few weeks, but if the crown and drainage aren't right, the same ruts and potholes come right back. Here are the signs we see most often.
Potholes
Low spots that hold water after rain. Tires flex the wet base and push material outward, so the hole keeps growing until the grade is corrected.
Ruts and washboarding
Repeated traffic in the same line, loose material, and a flat crown channel water down the driveway instead of off it.
Washed-out sections
Heavy rain cuts channels across or down the drive when water has no crown or ditch to follow. This is usually a drainage problem first.
Thin or bare surface
When the base is down to dirt or sand across most of the width, the driveway needs fresh gravel, limerock, or road base spread and graded.
